AUSTRALIA’S best sketch blog, a series by Australian comedian Joni Mitchell, has gone viral on social media.
The podcast was created by Mitchell in 2011 and she wrote the first three episodes of the series.
The podcasts have been downloaded more than 150,000 times and were recently nominated for a National Podcast of the Year.
The first episode of Mitchell’s podcast was published in April, with a second episode being released on Monday.
Mitchell told ABC Radio Melbourne she was “stunned” to receive an award for her work.
“I don’t know how many people get to be nominated for this, but I think it’s the right time for me to do it,” Mitchell said.
“It’s been really, really great.”
The Australian comedy community is one of the most passionate and diverse in the world.
Mitchell’s success as a comedian has earned her a number of awards, including the 2016 Mercury Awards for Best Newcomer, the 2017 Comedy Awards and the 2016 Comedy Award.
The Australian Comedy Awards, which she won in 2016, was also a highlight of her career.
Mitchell, who lives in Sydney, said her work in comedy had led her to become an “outspoken critic” of the media.
“My work has been really interesting, and I’m really proud of that,” Mitchell told news.com.au.
“But I don’t think it is going to be about me being a comedian anymore, or having a bit of a bit about me and my life, it’s going to have to be really about how we’re all being portrayed.”
Mitchell is one half of Mitchell & Jones, which was created in 2010.
She has also written the series, The Life of the Party.
Mitchell said she felt her work had taken off because it was “not a bit politically correct” and that she “wasn’t looking for controversy”.
“I just did it for the laughs, and for the love of it,” she said.
She said her aim was to make people laugh and to create a place for them to come together to share their ideas.
“You’re not supposed to be a big critic, you’re supposed to have a laugh,” Mitchell added.
“That’s what I wanted to do.”
Mitchell told the ABC she would continue to pursue comedy, but said she would be focusing on her children and other projects.
“The funniest people in the house have to laugh, so that’s my aim.”
