ESPN is taking a step backward on the blogging template trend, but the company says it’s still here to stay.
In its latest annual report on its content production, ESPN said that the company is “continuing to invest in the development of content and its distribution platform, and is investing in new content creators.”
“The company is investing heavily in new platforms and new distribution methods,” ESPN said.
“We believe we can create more content that fans will love, and the growth of our fan base and overall audience will allow us to deliver on those promises.”ESPN’s news coverage has grown more niche over the years.
For example, it was not a factor in ESPN’s annual conference call on the topic.
The company also said that it continues to invest to ensure that its content and distribution system can be fully automated and scalable.
